My 12 year old is taking the ACT practice

What score should an 8th grader be able to pull? If he doesn't show promise, I'm yanking him out of school and he can start earning his keep like my great paw paw did.

I got a 32. Then I was grounded for being the family idiot.
But really, who gives a shite. The only reason they give that test to 8th graders is to make money. The honest answer is I got a 23 - nothing to brag about. It had no impact on how I approached the test when it mattered.

honestly, they skew the hell out of all of that shite to account for age....all you can really get out of that is the experience of test taking for your kiddo...

It isn’t skewed for age. It’s the ACT. 9 year olds don’t take the ACT.
I got a 22 in 7th grade. Then got a 34 in HS. It usually translates although I’m sure there are exceptions.

The fricking lies on this board are ridiculous. In one thread we have two guys who scored in the top 1% of the nation. Better than the composite score for Yale. Haha.

I made a 28 four years after high school while I was in the military. No 36 but I was proud of mine anyway. But then I am OT dumb....

My son took it in 8th grade and scored 22. He's graduating high school this year. He reached 30 on his last test.

1st - 27
2nd - 28
3rd - 29
Paid a shite ton of money to LSU for a degree I do not use.
Wife took it once got 34 and full ride + $ to BAMA. Got paid to get a degree she does not use.

I did the Duke TIP when I was in 7th grade. My brother was in high school and we ended up taking it in the exact same room. It wasn't skewed at all.
I got an 18. That shite was hard for a 7th grader.

You can take the ACT explore as early as 4th grade. Same with the PSAT in 4th grade. It’s the same test that the 7th and 8th grade students take through Duke Tip.

A friend of a friend in Shreveport made a 36 and was basically handed the keys to LSU
Exaggerating but it was a pretty good scholarship.
