So you are supposed to by a mattress every 8 years?

You factor in that a lot of people sleep two to a bed so divide the population by about 12 and that’s your yearly mattress sales.

So dfw has 6 million folks so that’s 500000 a year.

Then I wonder who does bulk sales to hotels?

So if one of those small stores could get by selling 1000 a year that would be 500 stores but then you have to take away the sales by furniture stores. I dunno you need a lot of mattress stored

Very odd.

I've been one twice in my life. Both times, the store was entirely empty except for employees.

That’s like the 3000 mile oil change BS.

My mattress came with a 20 year warranty. Since imma light sleeper, I’m going for 35 years.

Two stores in Alexandria less than 2 miles apart. No one in either store when you pass by. I agreed with the money laundering theory

There are two in Alexandria. TWO. As the OT knows, ellic is a shithole that has nothing. Something is not right.

There are about as many people in those stores as there are in those GNC supplement vitamin stores that used to be in th mall.

Personally I also enjoyed the organ/piano stores in the malls that nobody shopped in too.

The reason there are so many mattress stores is because they sell a high cost, high profit margin item, and their operating costs are almost nothing (one employee, zero stock rotation, etc.). All they need to do is sell one mattress per day to cover the day's operating costs of the store and make a tidy profit.

Wouldn’t all of the accountants that work in there know if they were laundering money?

I don’t think it’s possible to launder the amount of money it would take to keep all those stores open without many employees being in on it.

The mattesses aren’t just for laundering money. They ship drugs inside the matresses. It’s a front for a massive CIA backed drug smuggling operation which they use to fund their off the books budget.
