This is true, but the thing people don't realize is how concentrated the homicide rates are in America. They are largely gang related and occur in a few counties. 11% of America lives in a county that had zero murders last year.

I have been saying for years that if the politicians and police wanted us to have a true view of homicide stats they would have two columns for murder rates. Column one would be two multiple felon gang members kill each other while conducting a drug deal or retaliating for some reason or while robbing each other. Column two, the one that matters, is when a taxpayer gets killed. Because, at the end of the day, I don’t give a single frick about column one and they need to quit making legislation that affects how I live because of column one. Those people chose their lifestyle and they can have it. Column two is where our police resources, tax money and efforts need to go.

Best part is the people who say I am RACIST!!! when I express this opinion. Not once did I imply that column one has anything to do with race, religion or nationality. It doesn’t. Two Italian Mafia guys whack each other out? I don’t care. Two Japanese Yakuza guys hack each other to death with swords? So what. But as soon as two inner city Crips go at it, everybody is up in arms over things. I still don’t care though.
