No, not really. The issue is the people loitering there and/or waiting on the bus. As another poster mentioned, it's a big transit stop for busses coming and going from all over the city. Rival hoodrats can't always just wait peacefully for their bus. Somebody disrespects somebody else and it showtime.

I've walked past there plenty of times without a problem. I mind my own business and keep moving.

Wait until we hear that the cops were doing 90% of the shooting. Then people will really have something to bitch about.

LaToya made an appearance earlier. She got that straight from the Mitch Landrieu playbook.

Loosen tie, roll up sleeves, look grim for the cameras. Tell the TV reporters "This is unacceptable and won't be tolerated." Wheel out Michael Harrison (Shaun Ferguson now) to say, "We will use every resource to find the perpetrators of this crime. We know somebody saw something. Call us or call Crimestoppers."

I bet Harrison is so fricking happy he's in Baltimore tonight.

Well luckily they killed the perp this time. The POS was wanted for multiple armed robberies.

How about the cop doing 75 mph on Napoleon that rolled his unmarked car because he clipped a Jeep with a woman and baby inside. Not a good day for NOPD.

Yep. I'm glad the State Trooper could hit his target.

When I wrote that comment I assumed it was another beef at the bus stop with some knucklehead shooting everybody but his target. As it turns out, NOPD was trying to arrest this guy for an armed robbery that happened last week and he came out shooting. Glad he's dead. One less a-hole in the city.

Could you tell what kind of car that was? It was smashed to shite and upside down in the pics I saw.

Also, the articles I read said no other vehicles were involved. It was wet. I assumed he lost control cornering and then hit tbe tree. Didn't read about the Jeep. Are the woman and child okay?

News last night showed a Jeep hit from the back and said the cop clipped them in an unmarked car. Baby and parent we’re ok.

Shaun Ferguson says the preliminary investigation indicates that 3 of the 4 civilians wounded MAY have been hit by NOPD gunfire. I'll give this guy credit for coming out and saying it, rather than stalling and stonewalling until being forced to admit it.

Also of interest ...
The two uniformed NOPD officers involved were working a private detail and responsed to the plainclothes cop's call for back up. They initially confronted the suspect on Canal St, not at the bus stop on Elks Place. He started shooting "almost immediatel" and ran around the corner onto Elks Place and then to Tulane Ave where the LSP trooper killed him.

Let’s all just change “may” to “was” and be on with our lives. We know it happens.
