I have relatives on my wife's side that lived somewhere in new Orleans East up until about 2002.
Everytime we visited I couldn't help think about that scene in Animal House when they stop at the roadside bar because Otis, my man! is playing there.

I believe JPSO has a type of SWAT/tactical unit that none other in the area has

I saw this play out in a NOLA crime case on a First 48 episode before

JPSO just sent additional K9.

NOPD SOD is on scene and has cleared several of the yards that calls are coming in from.

Soon is when the perp's family and friends start calling 911 reporting false incidents in other parts of the District to try and get units to pull off the barricade.

yes I know NOPD has a SWAT too... but there was a case where NOPD homicide worked with a JPSO unit to get a suspect that was in NOLA

Man I know you want to support your own, but I am not lying I saw at minimum 20 cops flying down I-10. Seems a little much for two shooters

I think it was last year when the cop got shot at the gas station on Tulane and Jeff Davis. A cop up town flipped his car going over 80mph on Napoleon.

With all the social distancing there’s nobody else to shoot at.

that makes a lot of sense too... probably a good sized area to cover on what is probably going to be a very taxing track for the dogs

does the perimeter stretch towards hayne or is it south of the shooting back towards i-10? My parents live a couple blocks from there and since can’t listen to the scanners, no idea if suspect is on foot, in vehicle etc. TIA

Morrison to I10, and Bullard to Wright. But that could stretch to Read.

Fled on foot. Thin black male, approximately 18 years old, all black clothing.

But who knows. Seems like a good time to rob other places in Nola

I was in Covington on 190 when that Mandeville PD officer was shot a few months back. Was like a scene out of a movie all the blue lights headed southbound

I don’t know why the cops play with these stains on society. first threat to a citizens or officers life: put em down without hesitation.

That's incredible. New Orleans East is one of those areas you think of as safe, quiet and they usually have their shite together over there.
