Yeah I’m getting sick of paying Entergy as well

I’m planning to save up some money to install solar panels

When the sun isn’t out, I’ll just run my generator

Please please do this and check back in when diesel/gas is $4/ gallon

That's not defending. That's presenting a plausible reason.

Defending them would be "DON'T LIKE IT? START YOUR OWN POWER COMPANY. OH WAIT... YOU CAN'T"

Could it be that the old meters were inaccurate and depended on rotating dials

If they were that inaccurate, the Entergy would be out of business based on the spikes we're seeing. OR if they were that inaccurate and Entergy was able to stay in business, then they are over charging the frick out of us.

My Dec Bill went up by $150 compared to last years. Had more Christmas decorations up but no other reason why it should jump up that much. I’ve read others had a similar issue.

FYI, natural gas prices have increased dramatically lately (about 20 - 25%) which is about half of everyone's bill anyway, I'm surprised they didn't mention this as a big reason why current bills are higher.

25% increase of 50% of your bill doesn't equal what some have reported

My bill doubled after they installed the new meter. Thankfully I’m about to move across town to a new house we bought and it’s under a different power company who uses old style meters

Get a smart thermostat, and ask for a daily breakdown of the entergy usage. Compare the two. They should track one another, and if you see an anomaly figure out what it is.

I had Demco try to charge me for so much energy one day it would have tripped my main 200A breaker. Equivalent of some 17 hair dryers going at once. Once I showed them the discrepancy, they fixed it.

Don't forget all the hurricanes we had last year. No way Entergy is paying repair costs out of pocket when they can just hit us with random service fees

That's about the only way you'll put their nuts into a vice. Flood the PSC with complaints.

Does anyone know what kind of meters they're using? Entergy, or any utility for that meter, does not manufacturer their own meters.

I'd bet money its probably a revenue grade Itron.

If you get the Entergy app you can check your usage daily and it updates every 4-5 hours with the new meter. It even shows a dollar amount for each day for the past few days.
