Much like dominion voting systems, I don’t trust Entergy’s new meters

We have removed any authentication from the process of reading meters. I believe an Entergy employee drives by and their computer picks up a signal from the new meters.

We all know computers can be manipulated. Entergy needs more $$$$, let’s manipulate the usage. An owner has no way to confirm any manipulation.

Computers have too much power, and in the hands of greedy fricks like Entergy and progressives, Americans lose.

quote:

Council members also asked the company about new meters being installed across the city, wondering if they are confident the meters are accurate. Entergy officials say they are. "We invite you to call us if you have any questions about your bill, and you have a high bill complaint, we haven’t received many of those calls," said Brian Guillot, with Entergy New Orleans.

Yeah I’m getting sick of paying Entergy as well

I’m planning to save up some money to install solar panels

When the sun isn’t out, I’ll just run my generator

That alone basically powers everything I need

ETA- Someone in the past also suggested building a windmill

I’m not very familiar with wind technology, but I would like to not have to worry about the sun shining for electricity, when it comes down to it

Has anyone looked into the costs of building one?

$270 for Jan 2021, in a mild January Winter. Was $200 same month last year. 1800 sq ft two floor condo.

I miss living in Demco areas.

I don’t know about the spying BS but my Entergy bill was over $325 for the 1st time ever in January. It’s usually less than $100.

I get it though, the kids and myself are now home instead of work/school but I replaced every light with LED’s. I would love to know why my bill is >3x’s more.

Do you have a new meter?

There’s no way to confirm they’re actually correct or have not been manipulated.

These “drive by” readings raise many issues for me.

Mine has been manually read twice, to check for accuracy, since I got the new meter in December. Talked to the guy checking it, he was worried about losing his job due to the new tech. Did him a solid and sent energy an email, to tell them how informative and friendly he was in explaining the new meter and process. Felt for the guy, he had been reading meters for well over a decade.

So the manipulation will be easier now that the man’s integrity is removed from the system

They then say they will charge you to come out and read the meter.

They will never find a problem.

With all the Climate Change talk about rising seas you should look into Tidal Energy and harvest the wave action when you eventually flood.

Purchased a home last year. We got electric bill data for year prior. When we moved in Entergy changed the meter. Our bill runs constantly higher and it’s only 2 of us in here versus a family of 4. The house is zoned so 1 AC barely runs. I had this conversation with wife two days ago.

I called them and wore them out...

they're sending a person to "re-read" the meter...

YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM AND POST A COMPLAINT TO THE PSC...

This very subject was in NOLA.com the other day. I love Entergy’s response “Well... The new meters are more accurate. That’s why your bill doubled.” bullshite.

I had this problem with the water company at my last house. Bill was dead consistent for two years and then I got a bill for 27,000 (THOUSAND!) gallons of water. I called and they said I must have filled my pool. No pool. I must have a leak. Nope. Back to normal the following month. They re read the meter and it’s correct. No explanation as I ended up having to pay or they were going to shut me off. There’s nothing you can do.

Could it be that the old meters were inaccurate and depended on rotating dials that were not calibrated properly or were in houses so long that they went out spec reporting inaccurate power usage.

I know a business that has 3 phase power and every so often the utility audits or questions their own digital meter because they don’t believe the usage matches what they expected them to use because it is too low.
