TSA agents can be the most condescending assholes on the planet, and they are functionally retarded for the most part.
I agree with you on the pre-check. It seems every airport has different rules, my belt sets off the metal detector at some and not others, and most I go to have made me take out my laptop. I was in Denver last week and this poor bastard was trying to take his laptop out (I was about to as well since I had to NOLA on the way out), only to have Mr. TSA come over and berates him for doing so in the most sing songy manner you can imagine. Just talked to him like a child. They fricking suck.

The ATL TSA likes to do this.
It has got to suck so fricking much that the entirety of your day at work is telling people that they have to take their laptops out of the bag and to make sure nothing is in your pockets. You just have to stand there for hours and repeat those words every 30 seconds.

I let the MSY TSA have it last week when they kept the belt moving and squished my backpack that had items in it that couldn't be bent. I asked them to hold the belt and the guy said "he doesn't have to listen to me but only his boss" and kept the belt rolling.
They also hate when you opted out when the Nude O Scopes were in operation.

Why is it even necessary to be filming there?
People just stir the pot. Let me hold a camera in your face just because. It's at least mildly annoying.

Come on.

The TSA allows filming if the agent had done his job correctly this wouldn't be an issue.

Honestly as ignorant as he sounds, I would be surprised if he wasn't from the LP.

And this is why I have learned to limit my vocabulary to Yes, No and direct answers from the point that I enter the line until I clear. I just won't fricking talk to them and it has been incredibly effective. Not a dick, I just refuse to engage and it has gone smoother over the last two years than the ten prior. If everyone did this we might get through the line faster as well.

Yea. I don't talk to them anymore. It's much better but I had to this time.

Considering their shitty success rate on those recent tests, we basically employee an army of people solely to frick with us.

In 4 years I've never taken my liquids or aerosols out in a plastic bag. They stay in my shaving bag in my carryon.

How did the x Ray process squish your bag?
TSA employees are generally of average competency at best, but at MSY I've never had a problem.
Maybe it is just an amplification of the general Louisiana/Deep South mindset?

Yes.. I've spent time at MSY for over twenty years. Best to keep quiet. I cannot tell stories for fear if my job. I don't approve if their job performance. It's wasted spending.

Too many bins + bags and not enough space between the end of the belt and the x-ray. I was getting an extra pat down because there was a red mark on the screen where my sleeves were rolled up.

I flew out of NOLA a few weeks ago and got to keep on my shoes and my Laptop stayed bagged. It was an amazing experience.
