Ghatti’s was $5.15 with tax. When they went up to $5.75, my roommate wanted to revolt.

And don't get me started on the combination Arzi's and Rocco's where you could get a Lebanese iced tea upstairs to go with your hot roast beef.

One of my fondest memories of a football game as a student was somewhere around 2002 i think, don't recall who we were playing but it started pouring halfway through the game. Game was postponed for an hour or 2. so we walked to Gatti's, ate the great buffet, watched a little bit of the game after it restarted on the projector, then walked back to the stadium and sat on the 50 yard line with hardly anyone in the stadium and watched the rest of the game.

It’s about $13 now. Went after the re-opening and it was $40 for 3 people.

Good timing to open it up in the summer so some folks can drop the kids off there all day for the price of a pizza buffet….

Early 2000s the buffet was $4.75 with a student ID.

I’d sometimes time it where I’d have a late lunch, then study while eating a slice every hour or so, and then go to my night class after eating supper.

I felt a little embarrassed when the staff would start vacuuming around me, but for a broke college kid 2 meals and a snack for $5 is unbeatable.

The Caterie was just as bad - although not in that neighborhood.

Hell I'm kind of upset that The Varsity is going to be a restaurant now. The theater is moving to 1010 Nicholson in the new Chelseas. The first concert I used my fake ID in was BTE at The Varsity in 1999.
