Getting transferred over there. Our shop is in Odessa but I'm going out to rigs, so I don't have to live in Midland/Odessa...probably within 2-3 hours drive.

Any recommendations on where to live, what to do?

ETA: single, no kids

you'll probably be best off in Abilene.

Midland has quite the unique history. The name comes from the Indian word "middlan" meaning "middle of the land". There are other interesting things about it, too.

I've found an abbreviated follow through is the best way to play in those conditions. Or maybe it's just because I've never finished anything in my life.

Iraan was in the state championship game last night for 2A. It drew a bigger crowd than Florida's largest classification. Close to 8K were in attendance and the combined enrollment for Iraan and Bremond is 280 kids.

That sucks. I work there quite a bit but luckily I don't have to live there. That would be miserable

"How do you know he's not
on his way to Odessa?"

"Why would he go to Odessa?"

"Kill your wife."

"Maybe he's the one
that needs to be worried... About me."

"He isn't.

Yeah. You're not cut out for this.

You're just a guy
who happened to find those vehicles.

I'm across the river at the Hotel Eagle.

Carson Wells.

Call me when you've had enough."

El Paso?

Abilene is okay.

Same for San Angelo. I liked San Angelo better than Midland and Abilene.

A few weeks ago the bus carrying their cheerleaders was hit head on by an 18 wheeler on the way back from a playoff game. It was all over the news while I was there. I don't think any students were killed but their sponsor was. Sad

Pecos used to have a pretty solid Subway for anniversaries, birthdays, other special occasions, but I think it closed.

Wal Mart is still open I believe

Lubbock is within the 2-3 hour range and is better city than most of the others around.
