If you’re looking to rent, I’d recommend trying to find a place as close to work as possible. Bluebonnet traffic can really suck during commuting hours, so making your commute as easy as possible will go a long way in terms of quality of life.

since you like being on the water try looking on the Amite Diversion Canal...not sure if they have residences for rent but it's worth a shot...some on the OB board live out that way...seem to be pretty happy...

I work in that area and we live 5 miles from my office. My commute is rarely more than 15-20 minutes. Granted, I work 7-4 most of the time.

As far as fishing, it's South Louisiana. He can find just about any flavor of it within an hour or 2 drive.

This is a map of murders in 2018:

If you see a single pin, it was probably some one off domestic. If you see a cluster, don't live there.

I'm a criminal defense attorney. People act like living in Baton Rouge is dangerous, but violent crime is staggeringly zip code specific

Roughly where on Bluebonnet are you working? It's a long road. Narrowing it down would help.

Should I live south or east? I know traffic will be shite either way, but
if you could advise...it would be appreciated.

West of 10.

I may just get an extended stay deal and take my time to look around.

I just haven’t had time to get down there and really look and this “opening” came up earlier than I expected.

I do know that I-12 and North are not where I want to be.

Thanks for the help.
