achary is growing. The old timers hate the growth and wish it was still 1970-80's Zachary. The people that have moved there from bigger cities want it to grow faster. Go to the Zachary rants and raves FB page and you can see what I am talking about. Overall it's one of the better places around BR to raise a family.

Sounds like Central. Half the people on Central Rants and Raves want to kick the mayor out of office because he wants growth. They woould all have strokes if Central built an Americana like Zachary did. Kinda like the old dude across the street from Americana with the billboards about them violating his rights.

Exactly. Although I hear it's slightly better. I haven't eaten at one since the late 1980s when there was one in Baker and Baker was safe.

Ha was about to say Jett's is also very legit little known place.

Also. EZ Buffet(Used to Be A-Wok) is awesome for the money. It's across 64 from Lane Memorial. It's like $8 with a drink. Much better than the ole Shitty Great Wall off College in Br. Give it a try for sure.

But OP ain't eating none of this shite. He's a fitness fig.

About the billboard guy...

He built the house out there without knowing or caring about th planned highway expansion.

When they came to him with an offer to buy him out, he wanted some ungodly figure so they built around him. (Can't remember exact amounts but I think they offered $300K and he wanted $1m)

If he hadn't gotten greedy he could have taken the money and run.

New mixed residential-commercial complex off the highway by Barnett Cutoff Rd.

If you were on Church St heading toward the baseball fields from the library and kept going, it would be about a mile on your left.

frick that guy.

Anyone remember the Black Bird Black guy on the south side where Americana is built now?

This dude was absolutely NUTS. His house is still there on streetview from 2011.(it's gone on the 2016 aerial view)

Zoom in and you can see his scribblings in paint.
