I'd live in Zachary in your situation. We were really just back and forth between Zachary and Central but just found the house we wanted in Central. I would have liked to have lived in Zachary if we got a house there as I work DT and my family lives in Vicksburg on 61.

yeah but when their opinions become the majority and starts to shape the environment around its hard to ignore. See: New Orleans.

This article is dead on about the Koch's MBM self-important sham.

Get on Board with MBM or you're not Koch Material.

I hope so. I love local stuff but that Central Perk coffee place is not doing well. I try to go there every so often but the coffee is never good.

This was the tenant list of Show Creek as of New Years. I'm sure it's grown since:

CC's coffee
Lafayette-based wine bar
Romacelli Bistro
UPS Store
Shoe Creek Athletic Club

There are some larger parcels that are ideal for a restaurant the size of a Chilis or Longhorn. Not sure what will go there but it will be about that size/scale. The development is mostly office and residential.

This is sort of across from the Wal Mart. The property did not flood and it fronts Sullivan Road.

Hey brah, we have Juban Crossing and everything over there

It's nearby. Close enough.

Yeh, Juban Crossing might be decent eventually, if the Central drivers would stay away. They apparently can't handle round-abouts.

Much rather live in Austin and Nola than any place listed in this thread I hate living far away from things to do

And everything I've experience with Austin, there's a heathly balance of people and opinion

Starting at Georgia-Pacific next month

Prayers. My dad has worked out there for 30 years and its become a nightmarish place to work.

My wife and I have lived in Zachary for 14 years. We have kids in the schools. We live in Beaver Creek and its a great place to live. It's quite and away from the hustle and bustle of town but not too far away.

Zachary is growing. The old timers hate the growth and wish it was still 1970-80's Zachary. The people that have moved there from bigger cities want it to grow faster. Go to the Zachary rants and raves FB page and you can see what I am talking about. Overall it's one of the better places around BR to raise a family.

Stab's is pretty good. Everything I've had there has been pretty good. I've never left there feeling like I was wripped off.

To the OP. I wouldn't look into buying anything until you've been at GP for a year or two, and think it's somewhere you'll want to stay. They are pretty shitty, and have a huge turnover rate.

The paper machines were down something like 130 days last year. The Koch Brothers turned a very profitable mill into a shite hole. Just giving the guy a heads up.
