Movies and TV Shows incorporating homosexuality.

Is it me, or does it seem like incorporating homosexuality into movies and TV Shows has become part of the narrative?
I never really had an issue with the gays, and I'm not homophobic, but I don't want to feel like it's being forced upon me.
It just seems like everything I watch these days has a storyline that revolves around homosexuality.
Thoughts????
