Those of us who have an actual life dont give two shits what fictional characters on tv or in movies do in their bedrooms… especially when *most* of the time the actual goings-on in the bedroom arent even depicted onscreen .

Now I do have to ask, because a number of people on here find it an issue.

What should people do about it?

I highly doubt if we ask the companies to fix it nicely they will listen. So what steps should be taken?

Not sure I’ve ever said I didn’t like a topic I’ve commented on. I ignore tons of threads on these boards that I don’t like.

and your progressive friends, why can’t they do the same?

since you ignored my last post. i’ll ask again, why can’t the Left ignore Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Libs of Tik Tok, Elon Musk, Trump, etc.

not only do they attempt to censor or deplatform these folks, but your side also thinks violence against the folks they disagree with is okay.

Examples just in the last month:
Dave Chapelle attacked while on stage for making a trans joke.
Supreme Court justices home addresses doxxed and “protests” organized at those locations. Violent protests breaking out in LA and NY
Tim Pool / Daily Wire show cancelled after death threats sent to their families.

So, conservatives should ignore everything they don’t like, but you progressives can threaten and censor what you don’t like. Hypocritical much?

Or are you just not liking that there may be a same sex romance just like the opposite sex ones you’ve seen in literally every other show up to now? If so….well, too bad…believe it or not I’ve enjoyed many, many shows despite not being turned on by the relationships depicted.

Did you turn gay after seeing a gay couple kiss on TV? According to this board thats how it works.

Well prepare yourself. It's being forced on you.

It's not being forced on Saudi Arabia or China though. These companies have no problem whatsoever with censoring their virtue signaling to countries who literally put people to death for being gay.

It's the most ridiculous double standard I've ever seen in my life.

1. its not forced down your throat. tv is a choice, you can chose to watch or not watch something

2. its becoming incorporated more because society is becoming in general more accepting to homosexuality.

3. yes, modern media is indeed over representing homosexuality. they are trying to get their brownie points in for their own financial gain. if i were a homosexual i'd be offended personally. its pretty obvious companies (media and all others) are blatantly doing it not because they care, but because they know it'll earn them more.

i think it’s fairly obvious, but since you asked…

the narrative that the LBTQXYZ+ and or POC communities are under an represented population in all forms of media in the US. They aren’t.

Or that the every day average American needs or wants more representation of the LBTQXYZ+ in forms of consumed US media.

Or the sub-narrative, that if you oppose or hell even question this gross over representation being inserted into all forms of consumed media, you’re a biggot.

does that help clarify?

Earn them more what, revenue or a higher ESG score?

I would love to see a marketing study that runs the same commercial with a straight couple and the a gay couple with a call to action at the end. I am really curious which ad would get more response.

another example of the Left practicing what they preach “just ignore it”

Reporter deletes Tweets Questioning Whether Assassination Would Help Save RvW

deleted tweet:

If you had the chance to kill Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, the two oldest right wing Supreme Court judges, should you do it while Biden can get his nominees to replace them confirmed?”

I asked earlier; but what is the solution? Another poster referenced that this doesn't happen in other countries overseas. Should we adopt similar policies as them? If so, which ones.

I suppose

I also suppose that not letting dumb things like that bother me results in me not recognizing such a “narrative.” I cant remember the last time i watched a show or movie with an obvious token gay character. I also don’t have kids or watch kid stuff on tv so im not as exposed i guess.

to be honest, i don’t really find it bothers me. It just strikes me as odd and over done in some cases, when not necessary or wanted.

Not does it generally positively impact a media organizations bottom line, it’s usually the opposite.

my POV is simple: representation at all levels and in all aspects of life should be based on merit (talent, skill, work ethic, etc). And sex, intimacy, religion, diversity, and any race related topics should be left completely out of children’s media. Those should be discussions between parents and their children, not for TV execs to decide. This should just be common sense, but some don’t see it that way.
