On a scale of 1 to 10--1 being investing in Apple 20 years ago and 10 being investing in anything 89 years ago
Why on earth did you make this rating scale so convoluted?

OK, I was thinking apple was a good investment and 89 years ago was a great investment.
You'd probably be happier living closer to family if you're deciding to have children. I'm guessing that's what your wife is wanting.

close call, very close call as to which is the worst shite hole to live in
but i think NY is better choice to be, simply because the larger number of women who are in most cases always hotter looking on average because they have more competition

Baton Rouge is shite. But it all depends on your SES. If you and your wife make pretty good money, there are little bubbles you can live in.

The better question is WHERE you would specifically live in BR - most areas are terrible, and would make the difference between a good idea or a bad idea.
Where you live, where you drive to work every day, and where you would send your kids to school- should all be considered before making the move. BR traffic is enough to not live there. Visit and just drive around on a Friday, early afternoon.

This is a terrible idea. I am 100% on this. Espcieally if you SO is pushing the move back to BR. Family is important but all things considered, Texas is the answer. Your SO will have mommy friends and will not let you leave if kids hit 4 ish. Maybe this OT 6.5 can convince you.

Buy or lease or airbnb a condo in BR for eight or twenty nights a year.
Move to Nashville or Houston and profit.

Well nevermind then
. But seriously BR isnt that bad but go visit for a few days mid week, job search and scout out prospective home sites. I love BR and would move back given the opportunity but not unless I had a solid position with upward mobility included.
I also happen to have a AirBnB residence that I'd cut you a month to month deal on

God. None of the bordering states to LA or LA are the answer.
There is a giant world out there... NYC was a great start. Find somewhere with a direct, easy flight to Nola so you can still see your family when you want.

Move from anywhere outside Louisiana to anywhere inside Louisiana = bad move
