Mother in Law passed yesterday afternoon....EVERY Priest in Baton Rouge is at a retreat..

....all week learning to deal with Special Needs Children....are you kidding me? They are putting funerals off until next week. Every Priest??????? Nobody for Last Rights, Funerals, anything? Come on Catholic Church, how does this even make sense. The whole family is hurting and now you go..."hang on a week or more and we will get to you when we get to you". Pure Insanity.

Funny thing is I am ordained and just did a marriage for another family member, but she was one of those super-Catholics that went to church every day and there is no way she is leaving this Earth without a Catholic Priest doing mass.

Had this happen before. Contact the funeral director and they will find one. There are a lot of retired priests in the area that can fill in.

Trust me...I will bet this retreat has more to do with all the Priests announced as pedophiles in Thibodaux last week, and some emergency training around that, than it does any "Special Needs Children". Already crossed my mind when trying to justify this.

It is odd though that they wouldnt prep by asking other locations to help out. Or that her priest wouldnt come back for her. Whomever set this up for the priests didnt think this thru.
Maybe tell them her death donation is on hold, and goes down by the day.
