Tim Redding. Former big league pitcher with 179 games over 8 seasons with a 4.95 ERA. His autograph shares a baseball with Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell.

I have a buddy that got Les Paul to sign a Strat. They were at a party together and he asked. Les Paul did not want to, but after hours of drinks and conversation, he finally saw the humor in it, and signed.

A bunch of Astros front office people from a signing table at Maison Blanche in Baton Rouge.
Craig Biggio was at the table (very early in his career), as was Joe Niekro, but it also included people like one of the broadcasters.

Marshall Thundering Herd hat signed by Byron Leftwich. Got to see him beat Louisville playing with basically 1 leg in the GMAC Bowl.

I have a Rickey Jackson autograph on a 'Check Day' prostate cancer promo picture.
I can't tell if it is useless or the greatest autographed picture ever.

As a kid at Saints training camp, Onome Ojo signed one of his gloves and gave it to me. Was convinced I struck gold
still have it somewhere.

I caught a foul ball at a Bayou Bullfrogs(ML team in Lafayette) game and hung around after the game and got a bunch of players to sign it. It was my prized possession when I was about 10

Honestly don’t remember because this was around 1989.
Based on a search, it may have been GM Bill Wood.

Gerry Dinardo & Les Miles, useless by now.
Back in 1999, Bills QB Jim Kelly was signing at a shoe store in Miami. Apparently not many people knew about the event since the line was less than 5 minutes long. I took my 'Canes helmet which he signed. Then he asked me if I wanted a poster that he provided signed? I said yes. As he was signing I took a photo with my 35mm camera and the end of the film was approaching, it took the final photo and started rewinding. The camera was old and it started making a loud weird sound (kla kla kla). He looked at me all serious pretending he got scared but I thought that he was joking. Apparently he was not as he did not smile back. Very awkward situation as I thought that he was a ahole about it. I still have the signed items after all these years.

Not an autograph but when I was a kid, we would run into basketball court after games to get sweat band form the players. I got Hi C Carter’s after a high school allstar game.
At Ryder Cup, I got Phil Mickelson to sign a flag. Matt Kutcher was standing by him but he wasn’t a player. Felt bad and asked him to autograph back of ticket. Haha

Warren Moon. I didn't even know who he was when I got it too
I don't think Warren Moon's autograph fits the 'useless' narrative. Did you understand OP's point?

I only have autographs from people with whom I have a personal connection.

Carl Morton, a pretty obscure pitcher for the Atlanta Braves in 1976. He signed a baseball for me but I don't have it anymore because after so many years the ink faded to where you couldn't read it anymore
