New York firefighters, many of whom lost friends in the 9/11 attacks, learn of Osama bin Laden's death [2011]

Dzhokar Tsarnaev, one of the brothers behind the Boston Marathon bombing, on the boat where he was eventually caught, with sniper lasers on his forehead. [2013]

Lesleigh Coyer, 25, of Saginaw, Michigan, lies down in front of the grave of her brother, Ryan, who served with the U.S. Army in both Iraq and Afghanistan [2013]

Canada, but still a great pic:

This incident really snowballed opposition to the Vietnam war and the police state of the US at the time. So iconic.
Right, except the SDS started the fights with cops so that they would respond violently and the US could be spun by them as being a police state. Years later, Jerry Rubin admitted that he was the instigator here and in Chicago, 1968. Of course, Jerry never got HIS arse kicked or shot. He left that to the followers.

Don't start none. Won't be none. Goddamn hippies.

A lot of the pictures in that thread, at least so far in the beginning, are dead links now.

Only fitting if "Klan baby" grew up to be impressed with another Black man's equipment.

Yea, because protest and dissent have never been integral parts of our country's fabric. Fricking brilliant.

This is always the image that I find difficult to comprehend from a scale standpoint.

Not trivializing but truly:

Every human being that has ever existed is in this picture but Michael Collins. Think about that.

I like this one:

Tanisha Blevin, 5, holds the hand of fellow Hurricane Katrina victim Nita LaGarde, 105, as they are evacuated from the convention center in New Orleans. [2005]

No, dumbass. They intentionally started shite with the police for the specific purpose of inciting a violent response so they could film said response and pretend like they themselves were the innocent victims.

That's pretty slimy and if you support it, you're an a-hole.
