Actually I have a good submission:
Guitar teachers
I was a guitar teacher for a few years. Made $50/hour and didn't have to plan or grade or do anything but sit there with someone for 30 minutes teaching them how to play an instrument. It's not a worthless job, but it definitely shouldn't be almost double what a first year high school teacher makes.

Everyone who upvoted this apparently doesn't understand economics at all. Tell me, who should get that money then? Do you think the movie studios and team owners should just keep it all? because ticket prices aren't going down.

Once it was stated Lebron James is incredibly overpaid, I gave up.

So you made $25 per hour?

I used to take lessons from a guy that was in Guitar Mags. top 10 unknown guitarists in the US. He charged $40 but that was years ago, and he was a great teacher, question is could you get enough clientele to make a living doing only that?

It isn't about someone else getting That money, it is about the value placed on their skill. The fact that some of these assholes in the NBA can make five million never playing, while some good family practice docs who bust arse make a hundred grand, is kind of strange.

I only rank professions as overpaid if it's a job I can train anyone to do in a short amount of time. I cannot train a Lawyer, Dr, Pharmacists, or Engineer in a short amount of time to do their job. However, I could study for 2 weeks and get my real estate license. The majority of the underpaid professions require little to no training/skill whatsoever. Just because you have to work hard at your job doesn't mean there aren't millions of people that could do your job unlike professions where people can't make it through the training.
I'm really surprised I don't see Insurance agents on this list. Anyone I know that has their own insurance office through State Farm or what not is VERY well off. This job is about as difficult as being a real estate agent.

Nobody's really overpaid. You get paid what you're worth. If you don't like what a real estate agent gets paid, don't use one.
The only way I see some getting over paid is if it's a job that the state mandates to be filled by a union worker.

I almost did. Had 35 students. It's easier to look at them as $100/student/month. So $3500/month just from guitar teaching but that doesn't include any taxes, SS, medicare, healthcare, or retirement.
A friend of mine lives in the Upper West Side of New York City thanks to his guitar teaching (plus his wife's job as a fitness instructor). He has 80 students (40 hour work week) and I know he charges more than $100/student, but I can't remember exactly what he's charging.

Some porn talent are underpaid. At least the male talent is. I think John Holmes, Ron Jeremy, and Peter north were the only dudes to make at least 1,000 per shoot. I think John Holmes made as much as three grand. Generally the more attractive woman the more she gets paid. Jenaveve Jolie is always a fav of mine

None are overpaid---this is America. If you want it, go out and get it.
Hard work usually pays off. There are many starving lawyers, RE agents, etc. as there are wealthy ones...the wealthy ones usually have a stronger work ethic and want to be on top.
More power to them!
