1978 - Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun. Still have it.
I also have a sweater my grandmother gave me in 1977; she was dead three days later.

The two that jump out the most are a Gameboy, and much earlier a Pee Wee Herman doll.

I’m also 42. When I was 6 years old. I got the bright idea to throw a pint of gasoline on a smoldering fire from the night before. This was Christmas Eve! Needless to say, I spent the next three months in the Baton Rouge general burn unit. Long story short......that was the best Christmas ever, besides the agony of third degree burns on 30% of my body. I got everything from All the He-Man and Star Wars stuff, to BB guns, fishing stuff and remote control cars. Not mention over 5K I’m get well money, which my parents used of course to help with hospital bills.

That as well. Got the robot, but that gate game with the gyros was a pain in the arse

It's ok, I was poor growing up too. My parents just didn't think to use the "we are too religious for gifts" angle. Glad they weren't poor friends with your parents back in the day, or they might have adopted this. No offense.

You had the GI Joe Aircraft Carrier?
I didn't know anyone that had it.....I wanted one but I'm sure my parents resisted because we didn't have any room for it.
