Arkansas and Missouri are the meth capital of the US

I’m pretty sure Pine Bluff has the highest crime rate per capita in the country

Fun fact: in the 1950s, the Compton Civic Auditorium was the site of Town Hall Party, a weekly nationally syndicated radio and later TV, country music variety show.

I vaguely remember when rappers started claiming Compton... late 1980s / early 1990s maybe? I knew where Compton was and had been there a few times, and it seemed a little strange to me. Maybe I was out-of-touch, but it wasn't a place I had ever flagged as some kind of violent no-go zone (like the Ninth Ward).

I’m in Southside only 10 mins sw of Gadsden. It has gotten worse since the Goodyear plant shut down but it has been a crappy town since I moved here 20 years ago. I have tried to get my wife to move away for 10 years but she was raised just north of Gadsden and she doesn’t want to move. Nearly every time I have her talked into it one of her sisters gets pregnant and she just can’t leave her new niece or nephew.

Uh, why do you let your wife make the big decisions? frick that

Is Bessemer really a "city" in the same way that Houston is...

These reports are all based on police reporting.

Many police departments falsify or don’t count crimes to make it appear less crime is happening for political reasons.

I’d take this with a grain of salt.

You are so impressively stupid.

Yea. That silly math is nothing but witch craft.

Ok if there is a city with 310 people and 1 person gets murdered

And another city with 1.1 million people that has 3300 people get murdered

Where do you think is more dangerous?

By the way homeboy- you're the exact type of moron that just repeated vaccine stats. You know why the jab was "100% effective"

It's because in a control study 2 people contracted Covid without the vaccine and 1 person contracted it with the vaccine.

But fricking clowns like you will just repeat what you heard and never actually examine a study to see if numbers have been skewed to fit a narrative.

But that's all besides the point l. I'm sure you agree that Monroe is way more dangerous then skid row because the numbers right?

Real question is what do they mean dangerous? If cultural people are killing each other in their neighborhoods over Bs like drugs and gangs, is it really that dangerous if you don’t go to that part of town and get caught in the crossfire? Like Alexandria for example, I can go eat and go shopping and all that stuff and have zero issues. Now certain parts late at night, in the hood, they kill each other. Does that make it dangerous?

East Point REPRESENT! Had a customs agent ask me once why my passport said my place of birth was East Point LOL. She couldn't understand how someone who looked like me could come from East Point.

Bessemer and the surrounding areas are somewhere you don't want to be. Really anywhere along the Bessemer Super Highway: Brighton, Midfield, 5pt West, Fairfield, Central Park....... Damn shame what's become of those areas. Used to be a lot of blue collar families there.

I basically live across the state line from Chattanooga in GA. There has been so much investment money being sunk into that city over the years to try to bring it back that it's pitiful. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping downtown. One of the largest freshwater and saltwater Aquariums in the world. Old school Theater with midsize seating. All the elements a Midmajor city could ask for to make it a tourist mecca and it's a shite hole due to the inhabitants. Drugs and gang violence guarantee a shooting every night.

I live on one of the mountain ridges surrounding Bessemer mentioned earlier in this thread. My address is technically Bessemer, but we are unincorporated and not in their school system.

My white arse goes to all the time and I've yet to be a victim especially the new shopping center right off the interstate and over to tractor supply on academy Blvd.

Big overreach of calling the bad areas Bessemer.

US Steel slowly shut down, the jobs disappeared, and the surrounding area went to shite.
