Probably a mountain cabin up in the Rockies somewhere. New Zealand's South Island would work as well.
A sleepy village either in the Scottish Highlands or mountains in Ireland would be equally cool too. Or houses in all 4 locations

I would live on my big-arse yacht, and private plane. I would just go to all these places on my endless vacation.

I can vouch for Santorini. The Greek Isles are not in as much "shambles" as the mainland. They behave like two separate economic systems because of the tourism industry. Sunsets & black sand beaches.

California has some beautiful areas for sure. It's just too crowded IMO.

I wouldn't live in one place. I would rotate between several places, each offering very different experiences.
Townhome on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans right by Audubon Park
Beach mansion just outside of San Diego
Mountain castle overlooking Lake Lucerne in Switzerland
Secluded coastal ranch in New Zealand

In Hanalei this morning again. Saw your trail sign. That will have to wait for next time, gotta get in the water today. Drinking a coffee looking at the cave and the people selling lychee/coconut. That coconut lady had a husband from Breaux Bridge and loves dancing in Louisiana. Snorkeling the tunnels again. Maybe we will be neighbors when we retire here.
Gotta go with haste!

You guys picking natural beauty should realize that doesn't take huge money. You can go live in the Caribbean on a beautiful beach or many beaches in southeast Asia for cheap. Same for many many places in the mountains.
For many of us, it's not finances holding us back from moving away.
