Morgellons Disease: is it real or all made up delusions?

Heard about it and found it a fascinating subject: people who believe fibers--of different colors--are coming out from their skin. Symptoms of itching, crawling, burning along with many other symptoms such as neurological, cognitive, and physical-sores.
Doctors, dermatologists, etc..all seem to consider it parasitosis and a phobia. Serious tests have been done with conflicting conclusions--some doctors have claimed the fibers are not found anywhere in any database; while CDC tests have concluded it is not real all-around and is a psychosis.
Recent data has shifted to it being directly connected to Lyme Disease. Seems most everyone who claims these weird symptoms has been tested positive for Lyme.
Famous people have even claimed the disease such as Joni Mitchell. Biologists and doctors have claimed personal tragedy whether their own or someone they love.
There is a lot of talk about Lyme disease being a biological warfare agent made close to long island sound and plum island where some of the first cases were reported.
The world is a very fricked up place.
I myself have a disease that is called "aapecific colitis". I have had tests done galore to attempt to differentiate my colitis from all known types and till this day no doctor in Louisiana has been able to tell me what kind of colitis I have or how to treat it.
Here is a link to a short video of a documentary coming out about the disease Morgellons..
Morgellons, real or delusion?

Morgellons, real or delusion?

Sounds more like psychosis. The fibers aren’t there? Insistence that they are?
That’s psychological.
That’s psychological.

These are the kind of diseases you get when you get the flu shot and other vaccines

Is your disease related in anyway to Morgellons Disease? Just wondering because you transitioned from one to the other. I myself have BPH and some other stuff.

It's real but it's other name fits it better: delusional parasitosis.

I myself have a disease that is called "aapecific colitis".
Pacifically?
Maybe you should check into the Hotêl California?

It’s real. Seen several patients with it. It’s a type of delusion/psychosis precipitated usually by meth or cocaine use. It’s wild. You can’t convince those people that they don’t have bugs crawling under their skin. They will point to random hairs or hangnails and say that’s one of them coming up through the skin. One guy brought bags of lint, fingernails, and skin clippings to the ER

Or maybe they’ve been infected by inter dimensional cordyceps which are invisible to the normal human eye.

I do not have access to original studies but found this article from Lymedisease.org interesting. Personally, I have never seen a case.
fibers found in Morgellons skin lesions are not textile fibers, nor are they bugs or worms. They are human biofibers composed of the proteins collagen and keratin and produced by skin cells.
While the blue coloration is caused by melanin pigmentation, the cause of red coloration remains a mystery.
“Many doctors are reluctant to accept evidence that challenges the status quo,” says Casey-Holman. “We need doctors to objectively examine all the evidence, so that patients can get treated for the underlying infection.”
“Morgellons is not a mystery. A plausible explanation is supported by scientific evidence. The fibers are human structural proteins,” explains Fesler. “It results from an aberrant response to the presence of tickborne pathogens.”

That article looks more like conspiracy theory than science. There are a lot of chronic Lyme weirdos out there who are convinced they have some serious bodily illness. Usually it’s mental illness more than anything else.

We just called those folks junkies back in my day.

maybe these fibers are an echo from another dimension from someone trying to grab the person in this dimension and pull them into their dimension. Since it isn't happening to you, you can't see it.

Mary Leitao,[3] a mother who rejected the medical diagnosis of her son's delusional parasitosis, named the supposed disease in 2002. She revived it from a letter written by a physician in the mid-17th century.[4] Leitao and others involved in her Morgellons Research Foundation successfully lobbied members of the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to investigate the condition in 2006.[5][6] CDC researchers issued the results of their multi-year study in January 2012, indicating that no disease organisms were present in people with so-called "Morgellons", that the fibers were likely cotton, and concluded that the condition was "similar to more commonly recognized conditions such as delusional infestation"

Personally, whether we’re talking about Morgellons, or fibromyalgia, or a number of other conditions that are hard to “prove” or diagnose, or just arent very well known- i tend to error on the side of believing the sufferer.. Sure, there are people who will fake things or want attention- but IMO those are outliers, and dont comprise the majority of sufferers.... The fact is, there are just so many things that can go wrong with the human body, both major and minor, and just because it isnt visible to other people or doctors, doesnt mean they dont exist.
