Miss River is smoking fast this morning moving through Mardi Gras pass. Friend of mine showed me a picture where small section of the levee just collapsed due to water load as the dirt just vanished and flowed towards Breton Sound (25-30 ft) yesterday around 4:45.

Current mid range weather is looking good for interests along the river. Current model scenario has a dome of high pressure dominate east of the Rockies for the next week or so. Does suggest a warm up over snowpack but beats a warm-up plus rain.

Last night J Grimes said the river stage could be above 40 feet until mid April.
They will be vulnerable for a long period and high pressure in the mid range is good news.

There is a lot of flooding up in MN and IA and downstream that will be headed your way, too. A lot of people out of homes and roads flooded over.
Not sure but it seems a little early for this up here. A lot of snow and then rain on top and above freezing temps both night and day has accelerated it.

Likely to be a major issue up in Missouri but note the Ohio River is the biggest contribution to flow. It's going to keep the river high for a while but I don't think it's going to push it higher than it is now.
All that said, hydrology of the Mississippi isn't an area of expertise for me. Some other baws who have been posting would know better than I do.
ETA: Good news is the midrange looks great for not getting rain across the Ohio and Tennessee rivers. Ensembles showing less than 2" of rain for the next two weeks. Shows it warm where the snowmelt is on going now but temps below average to the west of that.

There is a lot of water coming down, however the Mississippi will slowly fall even with the flooding in Nebraska and its neighboring states.

How can you say that? Have you looked at footage from up north to see what is headed on down that way when you already have flooding from north to south and in between?
Dams are washing out; feet of snow left to melt to add to it. many roads closed due to flooded out as well as towns evac'ed since they are under water.
