Dude was a failed contestant on NBC’s The Voice doing mostly rock songs just a few years ago. Jokes on us though. I don’t hate him for it one bit.

Everyone does that now.
You used to have to wait until a single was released on the radio for it to chart. That changed with streaming services.

But he didn't. That's why I wanted to clarify what the OP was saying. He had released at least 7 songs from that album, and some of them WAY before, the drop date of the album. Don't know if that guy had poor wording, or is just a flat out liar.
