people pretend to be black and pretend to be women to get ahead.
Almost as if those two protected classes arent oppressed.

As a black man, I don't blame y'all. My twin boys are in the process of applying for colleges and I cringe every time they ask for race/ethnicity. My kids worked their asses off taking AP classes and getting their GPAs in the 4.5 range. They took the ACT/SAT and did very well.
I want them to know they are going to Ga Tech and UGA on scholarship because of the work they put in, not because of their minority status.
Well if you live in GA, its slowly shifting to the left. If something isnt done then your gradkids will be fed the bullshite that they cant accomplish anything because they are black.

I don't even know. I was talking about using it for job applications to at least get an interview.

I listed my first name as D’Quan and that worked too.

I think it's a great strategy for white kids. Put X/nonbinary as gender and whatever they want to as race and religion.

Exactly. Put these institutions on the hot seat and force them to admit their choices, etc. Hopefully a few will frick up and admit "well, we just thought he/she was more of an authentic nonbinary and you came off more cisgender."
Right there it's not about qualifications but something more. A feeling. Well, screw their feelings.

That’s a tough spot to be in and I feel for you. If your post is indicative of the way you’ve raised your boys, I bet they’ll be just fine.
Our kids go to a private school and I’m friends with the head of school and we’ve had some candid conversations about quotas and natural diversity. It’s actually fairly hard to grow organically, but it went from a 90% white school 10 years to about 75% and it matches our areas demographics pretty well.
One thing that has been difficult is getting faculty and staff diversity. We have a black parent who just quit a professorship and we tried to recruit her. Her question was “how many black staff do you have currently?”
“ Well none but we’re actually trying to start adding.”
“I don’t want to be your token black staff member,”
WTH do you do with that?

I’m black at work and have been for years

You do nothing extraordinary at all. In fact, don't even answer like you did w "we're trying...". You explain she's a candidate on merit and nothing more. If offered, it's her choice to accept or reject the position. Don't ever leave the paradigm up to someone like that. Would be no different if you have a candidate asking how their view on management principles didn't align and they're determined to right your ship.

That’s why affirmative action is bad for all. Think about Mel Tucker on the coaching change board. If he were hired, many would say he was hired as the diversity candidate, even if he was hired because Woodward thought he was the best candidate.
If there was no such thing as a diversity hire, whomever is hired could be proud of being hired for his/her (notice my inclusiveness) personal accomplishments.
I’m rambling, but I’ve never liked the thought of being given something I didn’t deserve, or worse, others thinking it was given to me when I actually did earn it.
Perhaps that is what your teaching candidate was thinking.

Dang why didn’t I think of that? Probably could’ve gotten into med school even with my crappy grades…..

So tell me more about the scholarships for white males only?

I think that’s fair. On the other hand... She has 2 doctorates and would be one of the most distinguished staff at the school. Our school is in class 3 days, 2 at home, so she is qualified and has the time.
I’m anti woke, anti SJW, anti AA, etc, but our black/Hispanic/Asian population at school has grown organically and I’m sure that having qualified black staff to mirror that shouldn’t be viewed as a bad thing.
I’m all about the meritocracy, don’t get me wrong. She’s way more qualified than my wife who is a teacher there.

Last name ends in two vowels, no getting around it.

How do they know they lied? Reminder that this man is hispanic
Hopefully white people catch on. Tick the box that says hispanic / other and let this identity politik blow up in their face. After all, theres Plenty of whitewashed hispanics in cali who can't speak a full sentence in spanish and yet would riot if someone said they weren't "hispanic"

Normally when i take polls or questionnaires, i will list myself as a gay, conservative female islander.
Curious if anyone actually looks at any of those?

That is beyond sad.
Also it's much easier to get scholarships when you aren't white but go on about white privilege

My wife does claim to be part Cherokee. I've never seen any actual proof of this but her mother says that it is accurate as well. Guess our kids might be 1/64th Indian or something like that. I'm going to tell the youngest to put in on her applications.
You should really look into this. If you can prove lineage with a direct descendant listed on the 1924 Baker Roll and have greater than 1/16th Eastern Cherokee blood, your wife and kids would be entitled to about $20,000 a year. The tribe would pay 100% of their college education all the way through a doctorate or two master’s degrees, along with so many other benefits.
