Thanks for your awesome contribution. You probably also used to pay a quarter for a milkshake and .50 to go see the picture show.

I get the frustration, seriously. Meteorology is not an exact science so it’s hard to know for sure how a weather event will play out for a particular place. I understand that it is frustrating for plans to get disrupted due to weather, especially when the possibility exists that it may not play out as forecasted.

Just understand that the vast majority of credible, reliable meteorologists don’t make these forecasts with the goal of disrupting our lives. They’re just trying to do their jobs.

Good disclaimer. That other severe weather thread had a few ready to mobilize for a school shooting

I am more than aware of that, which is why I simply asked that we don't make cancellation decisions earlier than necessary, which seemed to be very difficult for 99.9% of the people here to actually comprehend. The weather can change for better or worst quickly.
At no point did i say do'nt cancel it. I simply said to wait until the weather forecast is clearer and more accurate, and if it's bad enough, which it was on Monday evening, then you cancel stuff.

and did you see my schedule? you think i'm that upset about not having practice one night? we got to actually cook and eat supper together as a family at a decent time, which was wonderful, and i didn't die in a ditch on my way to Rouses that evening picking up food to cook that evening, but thanks for the well wishes of death.

Severe weather is mostly fine. It's that tornado shite that freaks me out. A tornado used to be a rare occurrence. Now it seems like we get hit with a watch over half the time there's a thunderstorm.

The watches have always been there. Most of us didn’t pay much attention to these regular severe systems prior to the popularity of internet. The watch would pop up on the corner of the tv if you were watching a local news channel. You only really paid attention then if they were hyping a bad potential outbreak

Weather anxiety is a fine example of the pussification of this country. We literally shut shite down because it is cold and the wind is blowing hard.

I’m tired of everyone being anxious about the weather.
People are bored. The more bored we get, the more anxious we get. Also constant exposure to every adverse weather event on the planet makes the brain think it’s more likely to happen to you. This has been my ted talk.

Severe weather

This is getting so old.

Y’all are conditioning people to just ignore these warnings when it’s just a typical thunderstorm like this week.

What are we going to do when there is really a threat?

Is there a word for worse than “severe weather”?

I vote “ Going Disco” if it helps you cope. It’s what I use to describe weather that is out-performing the forecast or expectations.

So they missed a little with that one in south La. Will you survive this event or need a new order of tampons because it didn’t play out with worst case scenario?
My friend near Abita got roof damage and has two windows leaking in an old house from this storm.
Do you think the communities along the Florida panhandle that were rocked the other day feel like you do today?
