I worked in that building for 9 years. Shame what has happened to the city. Pure shithole now.

Wow is all I can say. This will have a major impact on office building occupancy rates in the CBD. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

Yup. 3rd world shite hole. I was never uncomfortable going almost anywhere in NO. Now I only go to the airport if I have to.

Born and raised. Used to be able to tell people where to go and when at night to be safe. Now I have no clue. I just say "good luck".

Companies try to keep their offices and parking near Poydras since a busy street should be safe; but this says otherwise. Nowhere safe for employees walking to work at 5am or back to garage in the evening.

Agreed. When you can’t go to the Tropical Isle to get a hand grenade without fear of getting caught in the cross fire, it’s bad. Won’t go back unless they clamp down hard. So that means I’ll never be back.

Yes I'm in that number. And I've never given the worry about crime a second thought but sometimes these days when I walk down a little alley way to get to my parking garage, I do get super observant when a homeless looking type is hanging around the area.

The bigger picture as well is how many companies are offering flexible working and how much less office space will be needed going forward. Real estate downtown is going to struggle alot in a few years.

Companies are salivating over the chance to get out of their pre Covid leases. Downtown is in trouble.

There's a concert coming up at House of Blues I wanna see, but I will probably skip it and go see it in Houston. NOLA is done.

The Energy Center is a really screwed up place for this to happen.

My new office is really close to this. Did this happen on the Lafayette street side or the Poydras side?

We moved our Baltimore location. Would hate to see our New Orleans location move too.

The articles about this yesterday described the location first as “the Warehouse District”, and then just “downtown”.

It’s the CBD, but we can’t have anybody thinking the CBD is unsafe.

Coroner identifies men killed in four separate shootings last week

Reese Williams, 19, was killed on June 10 at South Rampart and Lafayette streets.

From last January:
NOPD arrest multiple suspects in armed carjackings

Looks like street justice of some sort.
