Agreed. All this dragging out for 4-years, at least, seems like a good estimate.

That is 100% on the DA's office. They could've requested the full investigative report.

Probably what it boils down to.

Cornell employs around 11,000+ people in a town of 33k.

Cornell the largest employer by 10x.

Ithaca, NY is a modern day company-town and a private university is the Company.

I’m sure the “reflections papers” state that all participants believed it to be consensual. Surely none of em were dumb enough to state that it was non consensual.

I haven’t followed this that closely but this started out as a threesome right? And she had to keep waking up one guy because he kept dozing off? And she was comforting the other guy because he thought he was getting sick? Is she claiming that was rape too?

she was sober when she showed up and they were stumbling drunk already. interesting.

men don’t get to claim intoxication as means of escaping accountability or responsibility

what im unclear about is is this a societal expectation or is the law actually written this way as well.

sober female, drunk male, sober female claims rape…legally aren’t they both raped then?

. Jane Doe made a statement to Cornell Police that she was 100% confident she was gang raped

I’ve seen this mentioned but never seen it in writing. I get the sense this is a false statement that has been repeated so many times it’s becoming fact. Why did she not include this most pertinent fact in her sworn testimony to the DA?

There was a screenshot of a group text message inviting guys to come frick her

This could just as easily be due to her willingness to take on anyone and everyone than it a written confession that we are raping a girl.

The DA was negligent, and is trying to pass the buck. That's one reason the state pulled him off the case.

That's probably the case but no one really knows for sure at this point.

Obviously, the most important detail isn't her claiming she was raped. It's the group chat screenshot of guys being invited to come frick her.

To my mind, that's far and away the strongest piece of evidence in her favor to which we are privy.

Any one of us who's partied a lot in their 20s has known girls that would hook up with 2 or 3 friends at the same time. Being cool with a text alert to random other guys to come join in is a whole different thing.

The fact that Lucy Craig filed a police report at all indicates she thought she was raped.
...

No
That makes no sense. A person does not file a police report because they think no crime has been committed. Certainly, that would not be the assumption of a competent DA.

If after three week of being called a slut and you want to change the narrative then it makes perfect sense.

What would change about the case if these two that checked on her made an executive decision to put an end to the drug fueled gang-bang and stuff her in an Uber home?

Probably nothing.

She'd have probably fought anyone who tried to get her out of the house then whoever helped would be drug into the mess.

Also wild that she slept overnight in the bed with the bangers until 11am and then went home.

Still seems like this case hinges on the scorn of the Halloween party disinvite.

I disagree. This is more so evidence that there was a slutty girl WILLING to frick any and all comers. These are Cornell students, do you really think they would admit to a rape in discoverable format?

But that is the DA's claim.

Cornell University and its police department say that when they initially referred the case to Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten in late 2024, they did provide the Snapchat screenshots alongside Doe's six-page sworn statement.

Of course, I don't think anyone can publish the transcript but it's definitely been reported by ABC etc that her statement "I can say with 100% confidence I was raped" is in the written Cornell police transcript.

Of course, it could be either. If I were a detective though, I think I'd be a lot more likely to investigate where a girl claims she was not OK with a group text message going out for random guys to come frick her.

Anyone who knew a lot of party girls in their 20s knew many that were cool hooking up with 2 or 3 guy friends. Group text advertisements to randoms is more of a rare bird.

I’ve maintained from the beginning that these men should claim rape.

In her sworn statement she was able to describe the first 2 men- one was dry heaving and couldn’t finish because his dick went soft and the other passed out. If she can describe this and they are in that kind of state, how is she not sexually assaulting them? Why are only women allowed to be too inebriated to consent?

I really don't see your point. If they were so brilliant there would be no text message at all.

The DA and Cornell have released contradictory statements.

Cornell claims they sent all the pertinent evidence.

However:

DA Van Houten stated that prosecutors only received a six-page statement and specific Snapchat messages, but not the specific vulgar group-chat screenshot where a fraternity member allegedly invited others during the incident

this.

and sooner rather than later we will find out someone acitvely encouraged her to change the narrative. we already know the point where this went from "At the end of the day non of the sexual stuff was illegal" (her words) to I'm reporting this to the police: she was told by the President of the fraternity via phone call she was uninvited from the fraternity's Halloween Party.

quote:

At Chi Phi, the fraternity was preparing for a Halloween party, and Jane Doe was eager to attend. Text messages included in the investigation show Mr. Ingalls assuring Jane Doe that he and other fraternity members wanted her to be there.

“chi phi is your house and you are welcome here,” he wrote, relaying the views of the fraternity’s president, who was not among those accused of sexual assault.

“thank u i really appreciate that,” Jane Doe responded. “<3 i’ll bring my cigs tomorrow”

But then Jane Doe received a phone call from the fraternity’s president, according to the text messages.

She was disinvited from the party. It was for her own good, he said.

Jane Doe sent a biting text to Mr. Ingalls.

“I knew this was going to happen,” she wrote. “The woman will always get the short end of the stick. Yall aren’t my friends. Yall are covering your asses.”

By Nov. 3, Jane Doe appears to have concluded that she was assaulted at the October party. She sent a text to Mr. Newell.

“let’s be clear that 90% of what happened that night was not consensual. i was given more key than i can remember,” she said, using a shorthand for ketamine, “and i know that i told u i felt uncomfortable and i didn’t know anyone in the room.”

I have on NBC News and it is off the charts gaslighting. They opened the broadcast with coverage of protests and are presenting it all as outrage over rape coverup.

ABC and NBC went all in on the Nolan Wells case, but I have not seen/heard anything from them since the Autopsy was released and the Grand Jury failed to indict.

It should be required that they spend just as much time showing why the Grand Jury did not indict as they did with interviews of the Mom/Step Dad/Crump etc.

This incident will probably be the same.

Brown, Columbia and now Cornell with high-profile incidents over the past couple years.

Protestors calling for Cornell to be expelled from the Ivy League and degrees revoked.

All of above live in the walled garden they created and on the list of top 10 most liberal universities in the country.

They don't know who to blame for this and are eating their own.
