Thoughts? Classy? Professional? Trying too hard? Hipster? Not versatile enough?

Depends on what you're wearing with them.

Been eyeing some double monks for about a year and a half now but haven't pulled the trigger for some reason.

I dig them

Me too.

I have a pair or single strap and a pair of double strap. Like them both.

Nice. I know my boys Mo Jeaux and Pettifogger have great style.

If I see a dude wearing monk straps with no socks, I assume I could get a bj if I wanted to

I like them. Looks like the adult version of Velcro shoes.

Need the soles to blink as you walk...

OP I like them actually. (With slacks not jeans or shorts that would be homo)

I like dub monks. Single and double. Chapel is still one of my favorite shoes.

I'm not a fan, but I have absolutely no style. They do seem to be growing in popularity.

There was a trend several years back where people were wearing them unbuckled. Makes no sense and looked absolutely awful. They aren't my thing but they look fine when they're worn properly.

I kind of like them. I don't think I'd wear them with a suit. I would never wear with them jeans.

It would have to be in a little more casual setting (say a casual Friday at work) with a pair of dress pants and a dress shirt.

Point being, I don't think I'd spend the money on a pair of shoes that I'd occasionally wear.

Just bought a pair of double-monk strap oxfords last week. Got two compliments at the office the first day I wore them in.

Just personal preference, but I wouldn't go with the single-monk. It just doesn't look as sharp for some reason.
