This is a good example of how religious childhood indoctrination robs us of the opportunity of an upbringing based on reason.
It's an unfortunate practice because it's rooted and cyclical. A long standing tradition where good people are convinced that it's the right thing to do...by other good people. Therefore it continues to create this lack of understanding and unwillingness to comprehend reasonable alternatives. Why doubt the education of a loving trusted source?
I highly doubt you would see answers like this if that weren't the case.

Evolution is proven by scientists literally thousands of times every single day. You don't have to wait years to see this, it can be proven in a few hours time.....just go ask your friendly neighborhood microbiologist to demonstrate it to you for proof.
