New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu has won the 2018 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for his work in removing fourConfederate monuments from public property, the national organization announced Tuesday morning (March 27).
The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation said it was honoring Landrieu for his leadership during the removal process "while offering candid, clear and compassionate reflections on the moment and its place in history."

The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Awardwas created in 1989 by members of Kennedy's family to honor the former president and to recognize and celebrate the quality of political courage that he admired most. The award recognizes a public official whose actions demonstrate the qualities of political leadership in the spirit of "Profiles in Courage," Kennedy's 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book.

And Obama won a Nobel Peace prize. Makes a mockery of both.

Too bad John Conally is dead.
They could have rode in a limousine together through Dallas on Mitch's way to pick up the award.
Kind of a proof of that he’s truly courageous thing.

JFK also liked to screw around behind his wife's back and came from a corrupt shitty political family

This was months ago and there was a long thread about it.
I wish I could downvote you more than once.

He hasn’t done much since then.

So, pandering is now labeled as courage.

Yea, real courage to do what your voting base and your big contributors want you to do.

Is officially worthless.

Unbelievable.
Mitch could have taken the statues down overnight in one night with a crane without even creating a controversy.
Instead he played it up in the news, created a big controversy, and in typical Landrieu family tradition he used the event to enrich his buddies spending $12 million taking them down.
Somebody, perhaps James Carville, is stroking Landrieu's ego by telling him he can be President. They are arranging stuff like this to keep his name in the news. Of course the political consultants are making a fortune doing it and the Landrieu have plenty of sources of campaign cash through their political deals.
