What’s the significance of the fried egg tree?

Overriding democracy because you believe the people will vote differently than what you want. This opens the door for a lot.
Does it specifically say in the Mississippi bylaws that a vote on the state flag must be a vote amongst the people and not just the legislature?
Genuinely curious.

Last I checked, the people elected those legislators to represent them.

I’m sure a lot of them will but nothing they can do about it. I’m glad I won’t have to see that flag coming up on I-55 around Terry-Byram area
Lol, did it offend you? Stop being a bitch

They should have let the people vote on it
They did. If they disagree with their legislator‘s stance, they can change their vote in the next election. That’s how our country works.

Nah, it was stubborn to keep the battle flag of another “nation” as a state flag. It means nothing.
You should check out Hawaii's flag.

??? Mississippi’s flag does not incorporate the stars and bars flag.
One of my pet peeves. The stars and bars was the first confederate national flag, not the confederate battle flag.

At least they went about it the appropriate way and passed legislation.
Don't like it? Go vote
Which is kind of ironic- because in 2001 they voted on the flag issue itself- and the people voted 65-35% to leave it alone.
Amazing what fake polling and bypassing a vote of the people can achieve in politics.

So this proposal is still kind of a confederate flag? Lol

Yep! Pretty annoying. All you have to do is google stars and bars for the answer.
