The outboard side of the island isn't muddy. I went there as a kid. I think that is the attraction to riding out there because the shore beaches are gross.

Anybody remember the Festival of Life in Point Coupee Parish in 1971 ? Seemed like everybody there was naked. I ran into a number of girls I went to HS with and we all got to see each other the way nature intended…. A great time for sure !

I have been to ship island (it is actually pretty cool trip). I actually had no idea there was a “clothing optional” area there.
It is blistering hot and I couldn’t imagine walking a mile in the sand to get to that area…even if you wanted to see a few old men naked!

went to a resort after getting married. Had a nude island that you could take a boat to. We went everyday and it was loaded with the finest women there. Tons of fun and more casual atmosphere than the pitiful clowns on the resort beach.
After 10 minutes, you get mentally over it.
Most that make efforts to pay for super nice resorts are couples who take care of themselves physically and have no issues being seen
I don't get the Miss situation to make the effort to go, and be away from others the whole time. IMO, need tropical setting with clean beaches, water etc

This. The nude beach designation means bottoms off. Normal beaches are always tops off optional.
I was in Barcelona in my single days as a side trip from work and met a couple girls who showed me the sights one afternoon. Next day I went to the beach and there was one of them topless. A hundred yards down to the right and it's full on nudist. And they weren't all ugly.

Been to Ship Island in the last 5 years. No naked folks in sight, I doubt the author has been there. Not much there, but and an old CW fort and a very small snack bar/umbrella/chair rental place. Ok beach, but PITA to get there (hour boat ride).
