Than I would think it would be an apparent suicide. Damn. I feel for people like that, that don't have anyone they feel they can go to.

Apparently she was dealing with some things for awhile. From a mutual friend's status:

So many of you from Copelands reached out to me on fb saying that you weren't that close to her but were worried sick. But I just wanted all of you to know she loved you like family! Our chicken running expo in her fancy clothes! Her and Colin were the FIRST friends I made in Mandeville. We have experienced graduations, careers, marriages, births, divorces, and even 3 bouts of being roommates over the last 11 years- the last being her and her son having to leave my house because I was moving to Baton Rouge 8 months ago.

I am absolutely devastated that the one person who remained so positive felt she couldn't reach out to us, but the last couple of months make more sense now. I truly hope most of you come from far and wide to reconnect with your old family. I know she'll be waitin for us with her favorite bottle of wine and a cheeseball. And to Tristan- we will always be your auntees.

They had cops all along the canal by the stables on Marconi yesterday. Not sure if they were looking for her, or if that was some other deal.

Sad situation either way.

Heartbreaking. No matter what the cause of death was, it is awful. But to think that she felt so overwhelmed and hopeless is so sad.
Life is hard, but there is a lot of good in it too. I hate when people give up on life but I completely understand the feeling of emptiness.

Some of the worst cases of depression are with people who seemingly have everything they need.

They feel guilty for being depressed because they have every reason to be happy, so in turn they never get the help they need. Well meaning friends and family remind them all the time of how fortunate they are, but that doesn't do a thing to fix depression.

Not saying that's the case here but you just never know what someone is going through personally, no matter what things look like to you as an outsider.

One of my younger girl relatives went through a night that she tried to end it. It was weird, but I think the bottle of wine she drank helped her make that decision. She had everything going for her, except all of her friends were either in long-term relationships or were married. I guess that, plus the liquor catalyst, are what caused her to attempt.

I asked her why she did it, and she said she didn't know. What I thought odd was that no one had asked her that question yet. They were all afraid to deal with it. Told me it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, but she went all out and couldn't use her hands for a couple of weeks. She had been down on herself the past few weeks for that one reason alone, and it all came to a head. With the exception of a few scars, she's fine now, although something big is about to happen in her life. No telling how that's gonna go.

Festival season has started, so I am hoping she'll get out and about and have some fun. I just try to keep her around people and doing shite. Other than that, you can't ever tell what's going on inside her head because she won't talk about depression or whatever. I get the feeling that she's ashamed to be depressed.

Why did she go to Nola to commit suicide? Couldn't she have done it near her home? I just don't get why she went to Bourbon St then drove to Lowes?

She's really good looking too. Good looking enough to intimidate a lot of guys into not talking to her. I've got a lot of shite NOT going for me, and I've never contemplated it. I tried to understand what was going on by asking a lot of blunt questions, but couldn't really get a solid grasp that made her take it that far. I understand the factors that cause depression, but not what ultimately pushes someone over the edge.

I'm just gonna keep doing what I do, because there's nothing I can do to effect her deepest, inner emotions. That's up to her

If you left the FQ, you could easily take that route to get to the interstate. Lowe's is right near it. Not a far drive and I take that way all the time.

She was probably contemplating suicide, went out and had drinks and then decided on her way home to just do it.

Speculation, I know. Sad.

She didn't want to burden friends and relatives by doing it somewhere they would drive by all the time and be sad.

And at the same time, she wanted to be found fairly quickly.

After leaving the quarter NOPD reports she was spotted in Mid City.
