Just friendly advice. I'm not involved in law in any way.

I just know when the murderer of that bike rider in Lafayette was personally know by someone on the OT, the cops told him to keep quiet. But I'm not sure if that was because they were still building a case or not.

Seems like they got their man in your uncle's case.

Anyway, I wish you guys well from New Iberia.

IDK how this info getting out during the investigation would effect a trial, but I would advise against posting perps name until a news source prints a story with the name.

Work in the news, once the individual is under arrest it's fair game essentially to say they allegedly committed whatever crime. Anytime before could see the supposed person come back with a libel suit.

Pretty much happens every single time someone is charged with rape where I live, we run grandy jury indictments and then accuser drops the charges. Of course we never lose those and never will, but I've seen so many that I essentially know the rules back and forth.

Prayers for your cousin.

In his defense, everyone from crapaud town is named Verret so that information didn't narrow it down one bit.

Damn man, that's messed up. I hope everything turns out ok.

But I hope whomever hurts this gentleman does a thousand painful deaths.

There is absolutely no excuse for this type of behavior. Other than just pure evil frickers.

I hate to hear that. I grew up in New Iberia, left in the late 80's when I was 13. We rode our bikes all over down town, the park, every where without the slightest fear of anything happening. I drove by the old house not to long ago and all of Henry St. was looking pretty suspect.

He was born June 17, 1941, making him 75.

IF something has been done to him and IF the facts you released are correct, the LEO's will know soon who, when, what, where and why.

Drug abusers are inherently weak. The woman would know plenty and will tell all once she is threatened with accomplice, etc.

KATC has a small article that tells nothing. I am sure the local grapevine is buzzing and everybody knows everything by this point.

Wow, that's awful! Sorry for your loss. I have an older uncle that lives alone in Jeanerette and I've never even considered something like this could happen.

I know someone who knows him. Said he's a sweet old guy that took care of his mom until she passed. Said his nickname was Root Beer.

He left an impression on a lot of people, apparently. Too bad that the less desirables in that town won't give a damn
