You ain’t gonna go to jail for that baw, either go to court and pay the fine, or do the pre-trial intervention where you pay more but supposedly it doesn’t go on your record

first time, probably pre-trial intervention which is probably $400-500

Some bs pre trial and prob will have to take some drug and alcohol class.

Who drinks under 21? Laws are there for a reason.

I do vaguely remember that class. I was in there with a bunch of people with drug charges.
Me and some girl that I met in there went and smoked a bowl in the parking garage at lunch. We both went to LSU and ended up going out a few times. I was such a turd at that age

You got caught parking with diddlydawg drinking some Boones didn't you?
Multiple time 30 years ago and I don’t remember anything more than having to pour out the alcohol and some vague “if I catch you again” type threats from the cops.
In this scenario, my 19 year old daughter (nope) has informed my ex (nope) that she and her friends plan on drinking at some restaurant where they have a hookup this Friday. She asked if they could spend the night rather than drive back to BR. Ex said yes, but now wants to give my daughter the riot act about consequences.
I prefer to thank my daughter for her honesty, tell her to be careful, and move on. If my ex reads the actual law, it won’t be good lol.

I remember growing up in NOLA being so shocked that this was a real charge..... didn't see anyone actually get one till I got to LSU

They'll ask you about it if you ever want a top secret security clearance.

It really is a great way to expose kids to new friends with better hobbies.

Our dorm my first semester had so many people ticketed, we called our intramural team the MIPs.
Most people went pretrial diversion route taking substance abuse course and paying fee to DA and never had anything on their record.

I had to pay around 125 dollars back in 1997.

The question is, do you use the Article 894 for this MIP, or save it for when you frick up worse over the next couple of years?

Sentenced for 6mt’s but only served 3 weeks because my dad plays poker with the judge.

I got caught with some Zima in high school and they gave me one, but when i tried to pay it there was nothing on record.

I got one but it’s been 25 years since I’ve been a minor so I don’t think my experience will help much.

I think giving an MIP to an 18+ year old is bullshite. It wasn’t that long ago that 18 was legal in Louisiana. Just another law enforcement cash grab.
