These people have never been in danger.
These people have never had to sleep with a gun by their bed because they've had prior intruders break in at 2 AM.
These people have never had one of their family members car jacked at gunpoint.

We have the old hag neighborhood watch Facebook brigade monitoring everything these days. One of them posted that she saw a homeless man walking down the street pushing a shopping cart today.
I'm sure she was scared out of her mind to see a homeless guy.
