If they use my plan it just might work: Fire the bottom half (the over reactive a-holes that are on every force , were bullied in high school and now try to flex their newfound authority) . Note: this has nothing to do with years on the force. The guys that have been there a long time and are still on the street because they can’t get promoted need to be looked at first. Then use that money to double the remaining cops’ pay. The increased pay will attract even better people to the job.
Same budget, weeds out the losers, keeps the good ones. We do away with all the petty bull shot traffic cops/sped traps/revenue collectors and only use cops to stop real crimes.
Every city should do this.

I wish entire police departments would say “frick it, figure your shite out” and would go take other jobs. All the cadets in academy classes across America should take notice too. As soon as a city’s arse is on the line, you’ll get thrown under the bus in a heartbeat. I’d love if 75% of PDs just fricking quit and let these fricking gangbangers just do their thing. I wish they’d ignore all the calls from the media when shite gets really bad and I wish they’d just tell them to frick off. I’d love to see the change in rhetoric and tone when these fricks in America have to go a couple months with no police whatsoever.

I’m hearing it’s basically a hall monitor system where citizens volunteer to watch certain areas. They have no arrest power but do have a whistle and a radio. No word yet who’s on the other end of the radio.

It would be an interesting social experiment. I'd imagine it would certainly reverse some of the gentrification people like to complain about.
You can't exactly give this new force batons like in Britain when the citizens are armed with guns. Nobody would take that job
