Important distinction between Minneapolis and Abita Springs:
2010 Census population of Minneapolis - 382,000+
2019 estimated population of Minneapolis - 429,000+
2010 Census population of Abita Springs - 2,365
2018 estimated population of Abita Springs - 2,584

I'm critical of the police myself, but I'm so confused by the people who want to dismantle the police all together.
Like what lala world do they live in. They act like police are the only people who ever kill people.
Do people believe that by dismantling the police, that all of the homicides, armed robberies, aggregated assaults, domestic violence, rapes, breaking and entering, kidnapping, carjackings, etc will all disappear when the police disappear.

Crime will skyrocket
Obviously, this is your first rodeo.
If you decriminalize enough things, reclassify others, and use creative reporting for even more offenses, crime stats will plummet.

Has a city ever gotten rid of a police dept?
Only in a very small town, where the town couldn't afford it anyway and when they did, it defaulted to the county sheriff's office.
Not in a major city.

So let me get this straight, why has their police department been a failure? I want answers as to why? Who's accountable for this? Specifically?
Who hires and trains the police officers there?
Last I checked, Minneapolis has been run by Democrats since 1974.
Republicans, Donald Trump, etc... didn't hire those police officers. So what makes you think it's going to be any better by staring over? IT'S GOING TO BE RUN BY THE SAME PEOPLE!!!
Barack Obama just said "The elected officials who matter the most in reforming police departments and the criminal justice system work at the state and local levels" I couldn't agree more.
