Those broad brush swipes between the different generations shouldn't crack you up.

The organized Communist effort behind them is malignant as hell.

In millennials, we have a generation living the highest standard in the world amongst their peers. There are few close comparisons. Yet millennials are being told they are somehow getting ripped off.

The message?
... HEY! WAKE UP!
You millennials need to undercut the system!

You millennials need to undercut the same system which would otherwise leave you as a group far better off than any other humans on Earth.

... and ... (as evidenced here) millennials are swallowing the bait ... hook .. line .. and sinker.

That degree of generational ignorance shouldn't crack you up.

Older boomers had younger GenX kids. Younger boomers had older millennial kids on average.

It's never clean that a particular generation raised another one. Younger boomers were born in the first half of the 60s. They did not have kids born in the 70s for the most part.

I'll preface this by saying I'm 32. This is a serious issue with a lot of layers.

1. Wages not keeping up with inflation is a real problem. There is nothing we can really do about this.

2. The push for everyone to go to college or else you're a failure in life is also a serious problem. High school guidance counselors absolutely fricking suck at their jobs. There are a lot of kids who should be steered towards trade schools. Not everyone is cut out for college, and this isn't a bad thing. I believe this whole cycle started when FedGov got involved in student loans. There became a huge push to get every kid into college so FedGov and colleges could raise tuition prices as high as they want to.

3. Social media is ruining society and ruining this country. A lot of people my age care entirely too much about how they look on social media compared to their peers, and I've never understood why. This leads them to spend more money so they can make themselves look better. The problem is that they don't have the money to spend, so they go and take out credit cards. Rinse and repeat.

Social media is the single biggest problem, IMO.

I agree with you that this was a huge mistake.

I get where you're coming from but I'm mainly talking about individual people taking jabs at each other's generation as if they're all the same. Of course that could apply to quite a many things

I could pile on all day. But half of the millennials I know want the same lifestyle NOW that their parents worked for decades. Truth is, they want more.

Sure I will. But I wouldn’t trade my experience of being a young 20s something professional in a cool area so I can live in a suburb. Will I make that choice to move in my 30s? Probably so.

Congrats on the future move to Sugar Land, baw.

This is definitely true. I'm a millennial and I've fought this urge. I think we all do. In some respects working your arse off now for a day not promised to come.....well that notion sucks. But I plow on anyway trying to set myself up to retire as early as possible. Do not want or need a McMansion.

Actually it’s worse than that. The message is expand the size and power of the system you’re bitching about. Not to mention how vastly different society is in general now versus the 60s the comparisons mean virtually nothing and are only useful for pushing agendas.

I guarantee you the millennials will be next in line to bow down to the power's that be to maintain gov't control and power. They can point fingers all they want but they will do the same.
