lulz.

This sounds fine and all if you're in sales, marketing, IT, etc.

But for the vast majority of other jobs that deal in services, production, and the like it would be physically impossible to have a company without physical buildings and offices.

I'm sure the millenial generation thinks it'd just be the tits to get to work from home in your boxers all day but that's not the real world for most of the country.

My company is already kind of like that, but we still do a lot of travel to client sites. We don't have offices and work from home if not at the client.

Some clients request remote work, so in those cases, it's all from home (or wherever you happen to or want to be).

There is still something to be said for face to face client interaction and relationships, but I agree the younger generation will reduce it greatly. Not sure if that will be a good thing from a sales perspective, but I guess that depends on who you ask.

I didn't vote for him either time but Obama was product of George bush.

So you could choose to work 8-5. That's the point of the article. Some people don't like 8-5 and aren't productive during a # of those hours.

In many industries it works or can be made to work, and in some it will never work.

In project orientated companies/industries, flex hours may just mean that you have 2 weeks to get a job done (for example), and nobody cares when you work to do it. So you can work 12 hours each day the first week, 8 hours the second Monday, 5 hours the second Tuesday and Wednesday, and 2 hours Thursday.

The only problem with this is procrastination. You have people that will rush to meet that deadline and not do the job properly just because they want to get it done.

How many offices have you worked in? Every office is unproductive. People procrastinate even working 8-5.
