The great reset already happened. All these fat unbreedable heifers with their sausage fingers and disgusting personalities.

not going to law school is the best decision i ever made. I definitely would have graduated near the bottom of my class and would be making way less than i do now, but with debt.

I’ve thought about doing so in addition to my other side hustles. The main reason I haven’t done so is I’m afraid to put more unnecessary mileage on my car which is already up there. Making an extra couple hundred bucks a week wouldn’t help much if my car breaks down sooner and has to be replaced.
My pep talk wasn’t directed toward you. You have more going on that a few hundred bucks a month will solve. Sounds like you’ve taken the steps to try and get better, just stay at it. You’re worth it

I bet. I would probably be balling out of control (or dead) if I hadn’t gone to law school. I was making absurd money for a single 20-something at the time, but I was working over 80 hours a week to do so. I basically lived off about 14 months of working that way for another 3 years of being in school. A bad decision to go to law school and to get married to the wrong person pretty much derailed my entire life, and I’ve been grinding ever since just to be able to keep standing.

Just turned 35. Hit it big with real estate investing and now have enough where I could comfortably retire tomorrow if I wanted

I have plenty of friends who are lawyers. Several who went to subpar law schools and who had to take the bar a few times. NONE make less than $70-80k. You need to grind man.

I'm so confused here listening to the millennials complaining about what they are eating. They truly do not understand what I was eating when I was around 25-30 and had a baby. We often had less than $20 in our checking account, not much of anything in savings (401ks didn't exist yet!) and we only ate out 2-4 times a month, less than once a week.

I was gonna say I love how she's lecturing us when she was poor in one of the easiest times in this country to prosper

She must be old because 401ks have been around since the 70s

Property tax increases, insurance increases, and home repairs are absolutely eating my lunch. I had one bad plumbing nightmare back in January that cleaned me out and forced me to rip up the whole front yard to fix. Throw in the explosion of basic staple food costs and some older debt from when an illness almost killed me and knocked me out of full time work for a few months, and it’s a lot of problems to fight at once. In 2020, I had no debt whatsoever. In 2023, I have significant debt.
I make significantly less than $70k/year.

I haven't had less 5 figures liquid since i was maybe 23, and i moved to texas after graduating lsu with like 3k to my name. and i was not making much at all.

I have never had 5 figures liquid in my life except for maybe at the start of law school, but that was saved up for pay rent and food for the next 3 years, which it did.
I sure as shite didn’t have $3k to my name when I graduated college.

What type of practice are you in?
TBH based solely on your ability to write readable posts on here, we'd toss 125k at you just for showing up in Atlanta.
I just hired the most awkward person I've met in my life for more than that with a very mediocre resume and limited useful experience - we need bodies.

Don’t you know? Most of the OT discusses the specifics of income, monthly budget and DTI with their friends, family and even their neighbors.
That’s how everyone here knows their friends and neighbors have no savings and are drowning in consumer debt.
