An East Baton Rouge Parish School bus driver is furious about the “raggedly” conditions of the older school buses being used to take children to school.

Woodlawn Middle School bus driver, Octavia Cade, posted a live Facebook video showing old buses with mildew, torn seats, and wires exposed on the floor.

“East Baton Rouge Parish is the second largest transportation school system in Louisiana.” Cade said.

Last year, she was assigned a “decent” bus in better conditions. “We bus over 50,000 children a day,” she stated. “The federal government gives them $11,00 a child on your bus.”

When a maintenance worker drove her 1907 bus up for pickup, she refused it due to the unclean conditions. Despite having water and oil problems, he told her the bus was drivable.

Mildew? Lmao that was the least of our worries as kids in the 90s. We had entire chunks missing from the backs of the seat with God knows what in the inside.

exactly, the drivers are responsible to clean and keep the buses clean so grab you cleaning shite and start cleaning bus driver and stop posting BS because you have to clean the bus which is "your job"

That blows in South Louisiana. The only bus I've ever ridden on was the one that we used for travel to away football games in HS.

There are about 10,000 kinds of mold.

Only about three will hurt you.

If it's not "fuzzy" you're good.

I assumed keeping the bus clean was the drivers responsibility?

Mechanic stuff the state..

But I mean.. cooks clean a meat slicer after using it.. but the restaurant pays for repairs..

Am I wrong here?
