I think it's about oil (or petrodollars), or as others have speculated, setting the tone that we will get involved on that continent if China or Russia do.
I’m trying to figure out what I’m ok with and what I’m not. And trying to figure out if y’all have a legitimate point when you come into these threads and claim people on the right are now hypocrites for being ok toppling an evil gov if it’ll benefit us with China and oil shite.
I cannot shake the notion that the left will do a thing for a very evil, petty, self serving reason. Then jump down the right’s throat when they do the same thing but for a much more legitimate reason. Imo, these aren’t the same thing. Not even close.
But I don’t know what the reasons are for doing each of these gov replacements, so I’m stuck having to trust you and folks like you.

No, it would say something like “Guardia el Costa”.

iraq is a fricking humanitarian crisis. They’re not holding real elections, they don’t let their people have the choice of new leaders. Over a quarter of the country has fled, and most of them have inundated their Middle Eastern neighbors, not the US. Hunger is prevalent. It’s been a sharp descent for them and it is a truly hopeless situation.

When the US cut off Ven Crudes to US buyers for the second time Venezuela found another buyer in China.
The US no longer had as much sway over that giant pool of proven reserves. Which means Chinese companies get the rights and money from selling and marketing the crude and not US companies. US companies have the US military backing them.

Strikes truly were imminent

Where do those drugs end up?

Not at all. Iraq didn’t have millions of people fleeing famine on foot, risking death just to get away. And there’s the whole aspect of cultural differences with Islam, undemocratic to begin with, and being on the other side of the world.
Again, I’ve posted lots of facts here, this is a very different situation than most of the conflicts. The people in Venezuela are totally hopeless and the government is entirely self preservationist and it is becoming a problem for every country in the Americas as millions of their people become refugees.

Bingo.
Its virtue signaling at the present time. Venezuela isnt the biggest player, just the one easiest to pick on.

A politician would never lie when caught with their pants down, right?
The stuff you guys accept at face value.

Is this an imminent as last weekend when you folks said it was happening as you were typing?

Like clockwork....
Although I disagree with Rubio's assumption. I'd be willing to bet those sources paid good money to run the fake stories.
Happy Halloween everyone!
