Midwest baws, the weather this spring

Holy shite it's been bad. I just went back and counted, and from Nov 1 to Apr 30 (six effing months), Chicago had a total of 9 days where the temperature got over 70.
In April, it rained on 14 different days...a couple of those rainy days were the ones where it hit 70, so we couldn't even enjoy them.
My uncle went up to his cottage in Northern WI a few weeks ago to put his dock in and couldn't because the lake was still iced over.
I think it's sucked everywhere across the upper midwest. I'm pretty goddamn over it.
ETA: Rainy and mid 40s today
ETA2: The 3 days of May so far...not gotten above 60 and it's poured 2 of the 3

It has been a super slow spring. I especially appreciated two weekends when it was 85 on sunday and then an overnight low of 30 on Tuesday

That's 9 more than we had here.
I prefer low 60's myself. But usually don't hit that until May.

This is our punishment for carbon excess

La Nina troughing in the northern US causing cooler temps and more precipitation.

Right, but are you well below historical averages for non-shitty weather? We certainly are.

Decent spring down here in the dirty south

It's hot here already. I'll trade you.

Nah, there was a Jetstream change mid Jan. We were getting the really cold weather here, and it warmed pretty well. Then cold air sank down to where y'all are.
We had over 100" of snow Mid November to Mid Jan, and probably less than 10" after that.

I'm jealous. I can't stand the hot weather down here that's already started.

Here in North AL we've had a decent Spring. Though, we didn't have much rain the second half of April. 2 1/4" for the last 2 and a half weeks. No storms to speak of, though, in April.
I've heard a dew people complaining about the lack of Spring up your way. I know it is getting old.

I know it’s been bad up there this spring but I think my least favorite months up in the Midwest were March and April.
You expect Jan and Feb to be frigid, then “spring” comes and you get teased for a day or two and then a week of cold rain and some sleet. Hated that so much.

Trust me, 40s and rainy is not good for anything. It's depressing.
At least you guys are getting sun, can play a twilight round, and jump in the pool if it's hot.

Well it’s pushing 90 here already and sucks

That sounds nice.

Well it was one of the latest dates for the first measurable snow in Chicago. Where we live is considered part of the Missouri Valley but I think Chicago has had the same swings this spring. Near 80 one day, overnight downpours, and mid 40s the next day.
I really hate when we don't get a traditional full spring/fall (it was one of the reasons we left Florida.) Even in Starkville we had 3 seasons with winter (from my viewpoint) usually being just a single cold snap in January. I look outside right now and it's cloudy after rain all night. The one positive has been not having to use the heat much in the past 2 months. That's a big deal (unless you're renting with the owner paying the heating bill).
We went from summer to winter pretty freaking quick. I sat through shitty cold fall/early winter weather too many times last football season. The cold, rainy Nov Cardinals game was brutal. The Vikings and Giants games were nice besides for the bone chilling cold. (I can't wait for them to move to AH.)
