bunch of guns.(rifles and pistols) Fender Mustang LT25. I'd rather travel than accumulate toys, though. However, I have a feeling we're going to be buying new cars in the next few yrs. Hers 2009. Mine 2010.

Odds are pretty good if you have lived half your life (middle aged) and did not need or want a boat you ain't going to use it much. You will when you first buy it. You will soon find out it is expensive and a lot of work, especially if you have to trailer it. Its only slightly better (work wise, far more expensive) if it is in a slip or dry storage.
We spent right at $10K over the last couple of years putting a roof over a concrete pad, screening it in and building an outdoor living area (did all of the work ourselves). We have used the hell out of it but it too will soon go unused and will become one more thing that needs to be maintained and repaired.
We are in the early stages of building our retirement home. I designed it and will build it myself. Not act as general but build it. When I am done in 2 years it will be mortgage free (if I survive LOL). In 4 years our last child will be in college and we will move into that house, put our current home in a rental program with a manager, and spend a lot of time in our RV.

I bought 100 acres of land/farm and a tractor. 50 minutes from my door. I go 1-3 times a week.
ETA: Have bought several guns the last few years and have college for 2 kids to pay for and also paying for my son's flying lessons. He is almost done with his private. Just needs hours.
Have looked at buying a plane but they're way too much. 50 yr old Cessna 172 is 250k

Does 34 count as middle age?
With a life expectancy of 75.33 years for white males in the US...actual middle age is right around 38 years old.

Buy a Vette or Porche for a weekend toy and within two years you'll sell it due to lack of use. Fun initially until you discover their limitations.
Except for a track, there's no safe place to run them up to their capability.
West Texas was my only exception, watch out for deer while you're doing 140 mph.

Street motorcycle (FJR)
Dirt bike (2)
Vintage Triumph Tiger ( being restored)
Vintage trials bike
Four Wheeler
4x4 ( not mall crawler)
Jon boat / 15 hp
Guns
New Weber BBQ
I’m still a 15 year old kid when it comes to toys!
All that’s great when I get to use them I work so much I hardly get to use it.
Time is valuable .

I recently bought boat. It came with an 8 year warranty so I'm good until 2032,
I also have a tractor and two 4 wheelers. I couldn't really do what I do without any of them so I do love what I purchased. Tractor is John Deere and wheelers are Hondas.

hmmmm Bought 5 or 6 DLSR's back in the mid to lake 2ks. Worthwhile purchases,.
Bought a Yamaha AS501 back about 4 years ago. Nice unit but sits in a box in my media closet. Wasted purchase.
Stihl shaft trimmer. Great unit. No longer used as I pay someone to do my yard but it's cool. Probably give it to my FIL like I did a new chainsaw.
LIke buying watches but none are Swiss so I'm ashamed to say what they are.
I like amassing a large music archive. Mostly CD's, DAT's, WAVs and MP3's.
So no Ferraris or other exotics. Too much of a loser to buy those.

I lost all of my toys in a boating accident.

Please report on what you find are the 2 best days as a boat owner
For real boaters this statement isn't accurate.
For boat owners this statement is often true.
Most boat owners often know nothing about boats, and more often than not, buy way bigger and more expensive than they can afford, handle, and maintain.
Basically dumb asses and dangerous on the water and pulling a trailer

Boat my new to me boat a couple of weeks ago. Have put around 130 miles on it so far and loving it. I upgraded to this from a Nitro and ain't looking back. My wife and I use it often enough that I'll never look at it as a waste. I've never viewed the 2 days thing as applicable to us. I will say that b.o.a.t. acronym is accurate though!
