I made three big “splurge” purchases this year:
1. I bought a digital modeler to replace my guitar tube amp and pedal board. It shocks me how good it sounds. It’s tiny and I can take it anywhere.
2. I purchased a wireless in ear system for my bands. Currently working on integrating it into a road case so that I can do all kinds of stuff with it. I’ll be able to have rehearsals exactly like a show, record audio from practices directly into studio one, have the whole band playing to a metronome, add backing tracks live, etc all without having to haul a single amplifier or cab to a show. It’ll be all in one box on wheels.
3. I bought a friend’s old gaming pc which I’m using to play BG3. Already planning to do FF7 intergrade on it next. Hopefully, they’ll be releasing FF7 rebirth by the time I am done with those two.

Share a Party barge with my dad that seems like we work on Mon-Thurs so we can fish on Friday nights.

Next week I’m having a pre-buy inspection done on an airplane. Under $80k, not a baller.

I traded in my old boat for a new boat and am building an air conditioned shop specifically dedicated to wood working. I already have a sxs and 4 wheeler but I use them for work as much as I do fun.
And I plan on outfitting that new shop with a new table saw, jointer, dust collection and other things I haven't decided upon yet.

Well I’m not middle age, but I have an ATV and a tractor. Just do regular maintenance on them.
I’d rate my experience much more positive than my friends who bought boats

Sold this.
Bought this.
Previously had a street bike, but sold it due to lack of use when my 3rd kid was born. When I retire I'm going to get a little dual-sport like a XT250 or CRF300 to ride trails on my travels. Whatever you decide on, just be prepared to throw money at it often.

I buy minor league baseball hats and have a decent bourbon collection.
I'd rather rent a boat or a fancy car.

More like pay cash for.

A mitre saw. That’s about it.
And a squat rack.
Too many kids in private school

I’ve had a boat and loved my time on the water but it doesn’t beat my C8 stingray. Top off and a little Steve Miller band blaring…

Backyard remodel. Lap pool, hot tub, full service kitchen. No regrets. Use constantly.
