It literally happened across the street from the “Welcome to Mid City” sign on Jefferson where it meets Government. WTF are you talking about?

Those are some ugly units. Can't believe they are asking that much money for such a crappy looking development.

So a guy on the board of the reputable and highly- connected organization that has a public aim of maintaining “ affordable pricing“ for “ the community “ was attempting to burn down an expensively priced residential project and he lit himself on fire instead? Do I have that right?

I wouldn't say corrupt, just really well connected.

Didn't learn enough from the Anderson's? Like how to burn a building without burning yourself?

They need to burn that whole complex down and try again. It looks like section 8 housing and they want 300K per unit.

It’s also a terrible location. Just try turning left out of there to try and get on Jefferson. I don’t live too far away from that eyesore, and I’ve been making fun of it since they began construction

The most appalling part of the story is that apartments in Baton Rouge cost $300k.

If you want to live north of Government while still living in BR, that must price in the cost of it being a gated community with private security.

While that is only just on the bad side of Government, I used to live a few blocks from there and we used to have problems with the element that would visit from north of Government.

Same. Used to have a lot of shady characters walking by at all hours of the night. Much fewer problems now that I live just a few blocks away on the south side of the street.

As stupid as it sounds, that’s the only explanation that makes sense at this point

Not sure what else it could be. Possibly a suicide?

Seems like an awful elaborate murder plot if he wasn't acting alone.

"According to a New York Times wedding announcement, Thursday would have marked the fourth anniversary of his marriage to his husband."

This seems like a peculiar coincidence?

Yeah, kind of sounds like what they are saying is he may have been the arsonist and got accidentally caught in the cross flames.
